Born and raised in Germany, the artist moved to the United States in the 1960s. She now lives in the beach community of Carlsbad, California about 30 miles north of San Diego.

Watercolor has always been her preferred medium and over the last 40 years, she has perfected her classic techniques. Her work is soft and translucent; timeless and romantic.

It was later in her career that she became interested in portraiture and most recently, wedding subjects. The artist has painted wedding portraits for some of America's most elite couples. She now offers her service to you.

Paintings are created using photographs and postcards submitted by her clients. The end result is a moment in time captured forever in the beautiful, elegant brush strokes of Ruthie's romantic water color paintings.
